The courier Termius was a ship found in bad repair on a uninhabited island where it had clearly suffered a low speed crash in the distant past.

Most of its systems were not able to be repaired except for the thruster, weapons and the gravity systems. Thus it was fitted with a fission thermal rocket as auxiliary engine using water as reaction mass to allow liftoffs from planets and as power plant. Also the electronics are mostly new local manufacture.
